Chrono Trigger Special Edition
This is a tentative effort by the Chrono Compendium to rerelease Chrono Trigger retranslated from the original Japanese version and enhanced in several aspects. It will not reach development stages until the bulk of the Compendium's work is complete.
Chrono Crisis
Chrono Crisis is a new story in the Chrono series being done with RPGMaker.
Five years have passed since Crono and the others defeated Lavos and erased him from existence and the year is now 1005 A.D. Crono and Nadia, now married, have a son, Rowan.Since the King is ruling the kingdom, they continue to live in Crono's house,(which is bigger)where they spend their days in happiness, often visiting the castle, to visit "Grandpa Guardia", as Rowan calls him. Lucca has been running an orphanage ever since she found a baby, Kid, in the Guardia Forest. She continues to invent things in her spare time (with the help of her cousin Luccia from Porre.) In 610 A.D. (you'll understand why it's 10 years rather than 5 in the game) Glenn, (still in his frog form) is now the honorable knight captain, and trains the eager young Tata the ways of the knight in his spare time.
Ayla and Kino, also now married, are forced to make a pact with their long hated enemies, the Reptites, because of the cold harsh enviroment they're forced to live in. They now live deep in caves hoping to survive another year as it only gets colder and colder. Not only that, Ayla has been extremely sick as of late. In the new future, Robo and Atropos work under Mother Brain in Geno Dome and help her make sure that the world stays safe, but lately a new threat that call themselves "Techno Mages " have begun to wreak havoc in search of a mysterious artifact. Magus still searches for Schala, unfortunately to no avail. But, he's determined to find her and believes that she's trapped somewhere in an unknown time.
Crono, Nadia, and Lucca discover that people and places in time have been erased after exploring the mystery behind Sandorino's, (the town in the Middle Ages), disappearance. Now, after the town of Chorus starts to vanish they must travel in time to stop the destruction of their world before they too are erased.

Chrono Trigger: Day of Thantos
http://chronotrigger-dt.cjb.net/
Chrono Trigger: Day of Thantos is an effort to create a Chrono game in 3D that takes place between Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.
Throughout the ages, great warriors touched by destiny have journeyed across space, time and dimension to save the earth, all life, and even time itself. As one danger was replaced by another, new heroes came forth to meet the challenge. But there is an untold story in the Chrono saga. The heroes who had crossed time to defeat Lavos and save the future still had a part to play. In the tumultuous time between two dynasties, an ancient foe reached from beyond oblivion to enact is final vengeance, and a new, yet familiar enemy arose. From the hands of the daughter of magic, captive in a prison of shadow, destruction was sown anew. Faced with the ruination of the peace which they had created, the time travelers were thrust into the heat of battle once again. The flames of valor which had ended the tyranny of Lavos were rekindled once more, because not only the fate of the earth was at stake, but all existence. These were the events of Chrono Trigger 2: Day of Thantos.

Chrono Trigger Movie Sound Track Project
http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=45588
By the title alone, most of you are probably thinking, "Oh, God...not ANOTHER remix project!" It's true that in recent weeks, a slew of new projects (some good, some just unnecessary) have been started up, most of them with no goal in mind other than the remixing of a complete game's ST. I can assure you, however, that as far as this project goes, that is not the case.
The point of this endeavor (which I share with six well-established and very talented remixers, as well as somebody I'm proud to call an expert in this subject matter) is not to pit songs against each other and see who can remix theirs best or fastest, or whatever else the case may be; in fact, less than half of our source game material is going to be used, not because the rest isn't good (God knows that isn't the reason), but because it isn't needed.
First off, let me explain the project's goal: my constituents and I, for over a month, have been planning to make the Chrono Trigger movie soundtrack.
Your first thoughts are probably along the lines of, "There's a Chrono Trigger movie?!" or, "What the hell kind of idea is this? We already have 58 CT mixes." Let me answer both of those.
NO, there isn't any Chrono Trigger movie. However, there IS a script that I've painstakingly written in the past month (link at bottom of post), updated a multitude of times (8 or 9 by my count), and put to exacting standards. Some changes had to be made (noticeable ones being the removal of two main characters, Ayla and Robo) and the removal of almost two-thirds of the game's sequences. The result, however, is a 130-page script (roughly 2 hours and 10 minutes of screen time without title or ending credits) that encompasses the game's storyline, characters, conflicts, and adds a crapload of emotional charge and character development, both of which are somewhat lacking in the game. Plus, I have three years of screenwriting credit and classes under my belt, so this is not unfamiliar territory...the script is, without ego, top-notch.
And YES, we do already have 58 (going on 59) CT mixes, though, arguably, nearly half of them aren't all that high in quality (no names). But the point of this project is not to create a buttload of mixes that can be posted on OCR. The point of this project is to fully cover the script/movie with whatever fully-orchestral, realistic musical interpretation it needs in order to be as authentic as possible.
Before I go any further, let me acknowledge the others that are as-yet involved in this operation (meaning, they've agreed to participate).
MIXERS:
Rellik ("Dreaming on Distant Shores", Earthbound)
DarkeSword (no introduction necessary)
sephfire ("Above The Rising Falls", Kingdom Hearts)
Emperor007 ("Battle at the Red Mountain", Morrowind)
Unknown ("Pirates of Dragon Roost Isle", Wind Waker)
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT/EXPERTISE:
ZeaLitY (anybody familiar with the CT community is familiar with this guy)
And now, here are some additional details.
PROJECT LAYOUT
-This project will begin with an audition stage, which will last three weeks (until November 5th), during which point every interested remixer (including those listed above - sorry) must create a 3 minute-long version of the main theme, under the guidelines linked to at the bottom of this post. This stage will do four things: 1) it will allow me to see how well each particular person is at orchestral and orchestration, since this entire project will be orchestral only; 2) it will allow me to see how able each mixer is when it comes to mixing under action-based rules; 3) it will determine a line-up of people capable of creating this kind of entity; and 4) it will provide me with plenty of soundfont packages to choose from, in order to obtain the most realistic-sounding of them all.
-After auditions, the mixing stage will begin, during which every interested party will vye for whatever particular scenes they wish to mix for (the OST listing, including length requirements and recommended songs, is linked to at the bottom of this post). More details will be given on this particular stage when the time comes for it to be started. During this stage, no song is final until the basic objectives of the project are met: cohesion, realism, and foundation within the script.
PROJECT DETAILS
-The entire project (with the notable exception of the end credits theme) will be orchestral. This means, specifically, the use of only brass, woodwinds, strings, and percussion. This means, also, that synths, piano, and guitar are strictly prohibited. Think of a great classical movie ST (Lord of the Rings, The Last Samurai, King Arthur, Star Wars even) and how they use a studio-based orchestra. Exactly. We're aiming for that.
-One free-to-download, realistic soundfont set will be used for every song in this project. Why, you ask? Because realistically, as stated by one particular remixer (name withheld), you can't expect such a large group of people to make similar-style mixes, even if they are based around the same thing. I'm not hell-bent on that aspect; however, if everything is based on the same script and uses similar instruments, we can at least imagine that the same orchestra played every song, which is the "cohesion" and "realism" objectives of the project.
-The OST listing includes 25 songs (a total of 94 minutes of music, roughly) that includes MANDATORY lengths and RECOMMENDED songs. Yet again, that is RECOMMENDED songs. Those songs were chosen from the Chrono Trigger official ST (http://www.zophar.net/zsnes/spc/ct.rar) and best exemplify the mood, characters, and status of each situation. Do you have to abide by them? For the audition stage, yes. For the mixing stage, no. But, let me make this clear right now: the only source tune to be used more than once is "Far-Off Promise", meaning that if there's a conflict of usage, it will be sorted out; also, every time "Far-Off Promise" is recommended, which is twice, it must be used exclusively.
-As stated previously, there is no Chrono Trigger movie, and there is not one planned, fan-made or otherwise. However, several people have expressed interest in advertising the concept, and I'm sure that if my script and the finished project get into the hands of the right people, anything is possible. So please, no "OMG WEN S TEH MOVI CMGX OUT D00D LOLZ!!!11" I knoweth not.
-As for the "foundation within the script" objective stated earlier, I mean exactly that. If, for example, somebody were to make the track covering Marle's disappearance through the Millennial Fair timewarp, it would start out as a calmer, though slightly edgy piece, and evolve (as she was found out by the guards) into a faster-paced piece, that eventually culminates in a powerful closing, while Crono dives into the Gate after Marle and the timewarp closes. Then, it would peter out a bit, more despairing, as Lucca ponders what's happened. Basically, every song must be able to fit over the scripted action of the movie, enhancing it scene-for-scene, emotionally charging the action. However, there are some things left open...for instance, the fight with Magus isn't fully scripted, allowing for the remixer to imagine whatever conflict they like, and conduct for it accordingly. Also, a few songs are themes for locations or situations and will be used multiple times, allowing the remixer to simply make something that can fit over many similar events. This is all noted in the OST listing.
To close off this initial post, here are the links I've mentioned earlier.
SCRIPT: http://www.trenzhost.com/files/Claado%20Shou/CT%20Movie%20Script.rtf. In order to read the script fully-formatted, go to www.finaldraft.com and download the Final Draft 7 demo, then C&P the text into that program. Out will come a properly-formatted script.
OST LISTING: http://www.trenzhost.com/files/Claado%20Shou/CT%20Movie%20OST.rtf. The entire thing is self-explanatory (remember, RECOMMENDED songs).
AUDITION GUIDELINES: http://www.trenzhost.com/files/Claado%20Shou/CT%20Movie%20Audition.rtf. This is the set of guidelines for all of you auditioning, and I ask that if you want clarification, you PM me or ask within this thread, and I'll do my best to make it absolutely clear. No assumptions, please.
PLOT OUTLINE: http://www.trenzhost.com/files/Claado%20Shou/CT%20Movie%20Outline.rtf. For those of you who want to know what the hell happens without reading 130 pages of script.
BANNER: http://www.trenzhost.com/files/Claado%20Shou/CT-MSRP.BMP. Something I made myself, an optional banner for those participating in the project. Please download and upload to your own hosting agent, so you don't leech my bandwidth.
Anyway, please feel free to ask any questions you like, express interest in the project, post your finished audition pieces, or whatever else. Just, please don't do the asshole thing and berate the project as just another remix project. If you take the time to understand this idea, you'll see that this is very much unlike anything else yet attempted, and has a great chance of success.
Chrono Trigger Novel Project
Chrono Trigger Novel Project Mission Statement By Wayne Kramer, 10/17/04 Project Information: http://www.chronotrigger.info
The Chrono Trigger Novel Project exists as an effort to create, publicize, and publish a Chrono Trigger novel as an additional form of media that can be enjoyed by current fans of the hit RPG and the non-gaming community alike. The novel itself reflects the entire story from the game, plus countless additions to supply bonus material for existing fans, fill in story gaps, and add to the overall effect of the story in novel form.
The creation of the novel itself is not to be handled by a solo entity, namely myself. Rather, I have provided many avenues for fans to speak up and let their ideas and concerns for the novel be heard and considered. To make the content of the novel as thorough and accurate as possible, an Editorial Team has been formed consisting of a group of carefully selected individuals to assist in editorial efforts. This team is a part of a project Committee, which serves to provide input, support, and execution to the operations within the project. All of this is reflective of my belief that the story of Chrono Trigger is not my own, but that of every fan who has enjoyed the characters, events, and depth it presents.
In light of successful publication, it is my hope that, as the founder and novelist of this project, the Chrono Trigger novel would add a new, entertaining, and enjoyable story in the vast collection of fantasy literature. Through this novel, RPG fans would be treated to the ability to experience the story that they once played their way through in a fresh and in-depth narrative that can effectively supplement the gaming experience. It is my belief that this novel would be a large success if allowed to enter the mainstream, paving the way for other novels like it and a plethora of other possibilities, serving as an asset to the beneficiaries, the gaming community, the reading community, and the entertainment industry.
Chrono Trigger Remake Project
The Chrono Trigger Remake Project is a total conversion for Unreal Tournament 2004 based on the Square-Enix game, Chrono Trigger. We are working to achieve a fun remake true to the original game with a few cool revamped things (such as mini-games, side quests, new events, and a co-op mode). The Chrono Trigger Remake Project team intends to build up their experience with this task of remaking the original CT, while having fun recreating their favourite scenes, characters, and locations from the original game. This project is a just a tribute, and should be conisdered equal to any fanart or fanfiction already existent over the internet. In the future the Project might move to the next Unreal engine in order to have the best engine there is. If our experience lets us, we might even try to build an engine ourselves or use the Unreal Engine 2 Runtime and thus allow people who don't have Unreal Tournament 2004 to play this awesome game.
The Project's main objective is to totally recreate the feeling of the original game, in a way the old fans may remember how it was played the original deal back in 1995 while the new players enjoy the game with reworked graphics. That way it will be possible to select if the player wants to play the original work (in 3D of course) or the new mode with the added exras (mini-games, side quests and events). If time and our skills permit, a multiplayer mode will be added, where players can battle each other or play through the game with a companion. This Project isn't easy and shouldn't be taken lightly; we're serious, even if it takes 5 years or more to finish this project, we will work slowly, but we won't disregard our quality standards -- we will release soomething worthy of the Chrono Trigger name. The Project is a fan made tribute and doesn't intend to harm in any way the awesome Square Enix Chrono franchise; that way, you will be able to obtain the game free when it's released. If by any means we don't achieve our game quality standards, we won't release the game. Chrono Trigger is a masterpiece in its original format, and should not be disrespected in any way.
Any CT fan who thinks that might have somthing to contribute to the project can try to get in contact with us. Remember, we're always looking for help.
Requirements:
Any applicant should at least post/email etc. examples of his work, the CTR Project team will consider them and get in contact with the applicant. If any answer doesn't come up in the next days the applicant shouldn't worry; it's normal in these kind of fan projects that the team takes time to get all the teammates opinions. Remember, we have lives too. Every new applicant should agree to the NDA.
Currently needed most: Texturers, Character Modelers, Character Animators, Unreal Script Coders. Please apply here.
